The story of women’s struggle is not a new one and it is often said that women had to come a long way before they achieved what they desired for. The restrictions that infuriated women and led to the various types of feminist movements have been talked about in various literary texts of the time and Kate Chopin’s The Awakening, being one of them, faced lots of negative criticisms. This is still considered to be a bold example of fiction that was written about something way ahead of its time.
